Competition

Character Creation

Character creation is one of the most entertaining aspects of PKR.  Right when you log in, you have the option to choose "Me".  This is where you go to customize your character. 

Here is what you'll see when you open the "Me" tab.  (click to make bigger) 

You can select different aspects of your character (hair, face, pants, shirt, shoes, facial hair) and modify them with endless options.  With the thousands of variables, you can create the perfect character.

A different option for creating your character is even more realistic.  You send the PKR tech team two pictures of yourself, and they are able to scan your body to create a perfect replica of yourself on PKR.  Cool huh?

Game Play

When you're at the table, the experience is different from any other online poker room.  The player interface is simple, and it's very easy to follow the action.

The standard view is an overhead view, just like at most poker sites.  I rarely use this, because it defeats the purpose of the 3D game play.  Here's a shot of the overhead view:

The next available camera mode is "Orbit".  This mode allows you to click the screen and drag the camera around until you find your preferred angle.  Once you get there, the camera stays fixed at that angle.  Here is a screenshot of the Orbit view.

The third option for camera mode is "Dynamic".  This is by far my favorite mode.  The dynamic camera follows action around the table, very similar to how poker is depicted on TV.  You can see each players' action, and any chip tricks or animations they perform up close.  Here's a shot of the dynamic view.
